THE OXFORD CONFERENCE IN EDUCATION

General Information

The Oxford Conference in Education is a creative retreat designed to stimulate and enthuse teachers.

Aim:

The aim of the conference is to give teachers, and all those who are excited about education, an opportunity to hear and discuss with eminent speakers from education and related fields and, in so doing, to reflect on their own experiences and refresh their vision.

How long is it?
Each conference lasts for roughly 48 hours, beginning and ending with lunch.
When does it happen?
It happens every two or three years in early January. The next one will be in January 2012.
Cost:

The Oxford Conference in Education is organised by teachers and is a non-profit-making event. The fee has been kept to a minimum and represents excellent value for a fully residential conference. For 2010 the Conference cost £380 (£700 for two delegates from the same school).

Comments from recent delegates:
‘It was exciting to hear speakers of such high quality, and to have the chance to discuss informally with them and with colleagues from other schools.’
‘The event was informative – it was an oasis.’
‘I gained a tremendous amount, not least of which was a clearer sense of my own vision of education and sense of values.’
‘The range of speakers was both impressive and challenging … I left with a great deal to think about.’
‘… thoroughly stimulating; I’ve come back to school buzzing!’
